She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Derner Institute for Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University and her B.A. from Vassar College in Psychology and French. She is a graduate of the Adult Psychoanalytic Program at IPTAR, a fellow of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA), and alumna of a three-year fellowship through the Rita Frankiel Memorial of the Melanie Klein Trust. In addition to maintaining a private practice, Dr. Stephens teaches courses on countertransference and embodiment at the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (NYPSI) and supervises at the Greene Clinic. Her areas of expertise include creativity & unconscious processes, navigating separation and grief, somatic concerns, and exploring sexuality.
